Procedure for the Pension Evaluation Process

Below we have laid out a step-by-step guide to the Evaluation Process:

An Information Release Form needs to be completed, which gives us permission to approach companies on your behalf for information about your pension schemes. This involves them providing us with an up to date ‘members benefit statement’ and a copy of the scheme rules.
At the same time we contact your current employer (if applicable) for details of their Pension scheme since it might be in your interest to transfer benefits to their scheme.
The Pension scheme administrators can take a long time to provide us with all of the information that we need to advise you. But we will regularly keep you informed of our progress.
Once all of the necessary information has been received, we will analyse your options.

We will then contact you to establish your aims and objectives. This is achieved by completing our written ‘Personal Questionnaire’.

Having established your aims and objectives we combine this information with that received from the Pension schemes. We are then able to make our recommendation stating which of the options available to you is the most suitable.
If our recommendation is for you to leave your Pension benefits where they are, then no further action is necessary.
If our recommendation is for you to transfer your Pension benefits into your new employer’s scheme, we will inform you as to how this is achieved. However, you are under no obligation to do this if you do not wish to.
If our recommendation is for a transfer of your Pension benefits into a personal arrangement, we will provide all the information in our report detailing the reasons why this would be the most appropriate course of action for you to take.
Thereafter, we aim to review all your policies and investments on a regular basis, giving you the opportunity to review your strategy if necessary.
